Role Overview

We are looking for an Application Scientist specializing in Electron Microscopy to serve Singapore and nearby countries in Asia Pacific. This role is customer-facing and critical to ensuring superior technical support, system dependability, and smooth customer onboarding processes.

Key Duties

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales application support across Asia Pacific including China.
• Conduct onsite and virtual demonstrations and trainings on electron microscopy equipment and software.
• Serve as the technical authority advising sales teams and customers on system functions and purchase suitability.
• Analyze samples collaboratively with sales and deliver clear professional reports of findings.
• Create application materials like presentations, scientific posters, and reports coordinating with regional and global application teams.
• Take part in marketing efforts, including presenting Bruker EM at scientific conferences.
• Engage with the electron microscopy user community for method development and application enhancements.
• Support software development, testing, and the transfer of new product knowledge to local teams.
• Collaborate across business units such as R&D, Operations, Service, and Business Development to devise market segment solutions.
• Assist customers post-purchase with analytical difficulties through method adjustment and data interpretation.
• Troubleshoot technical and performance issues with the technical team and customers.
• Assist service teams during installations, initial operation guidance, user training, and follow-up application trainings when necessary.

Candidate Profile

• Master’s or PhD in Physics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
• 3 to 8 years of experience with STEM, EELS, or Cryo Electron Microscopy; PhD holders with relevant research experience encouraged to apply.
• Strong hands-on expertise with sophisticated scientific instrumentation and a keen interest in instrumentation technology.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Mandarin proficiency is beneficial but not essential.
• Proven capability to train, mentor and effectively share knowledge with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Comfortable working independently or within teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%, capable of engaging with multicultural clients and teams.
• Experience in electron microscopy or in constructing scientific apparatus is advantageous.
