Job Overview
We are seeking an Application Engineer specialized in UPS/Data Center Battery systems to join our R&D team in Gurgaon. This role is designated for Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager with responsibilities in design validation, system sizing, and project execution in high capacity UPS and data center battery systems. Candidates must have a BE/B.Tech degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and possess between 5 and 10 years of relevant experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Validate high voltage Lithium-Ion battery systems used in UPS ranging from 75KVA to 1 MVA, data centers, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Perform sizing calculations for Lithium batteries tailored for UPS applications.
- Select appropriate sub-systems including batteries, racks, fire suppression systems, and cable sizing based on project needs.
- Collaborate with technology partners to develop and refine solutions.
- Draft technical proposals aligned with client specifications.
- Ensure compliance with UL, IEC, IEEE, ISO standards and secure necessary validations, approvals, and certifications.
- Analyze tenders, specifications, and Voice of Customer (VoC) to design solutions including single line diagrams, bills of quantity, and critical components.
- Conduct root cause analysis for failures reported from the field.
- Manage complete product delivery lifecycle from requirement gathering to solution deployment, including support during site installation and commissioning.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Hands-on experience with high-capacity UPS projects (75KVA to 1 MVA).
- Practical exposure to data center project execution.
- Proficiency in CAD software for preparation of single line diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
- Flexibility to travel and work across different locations.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong teamwork ability.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in power backup applications for data centers.
- Knowledge of laboratory and field testing equipment related to FAT-SAT (Factory Acceptance Test - Site Acceptance Test) procedures.
