Application Engineer

Overview

Repario is looking for a proficient Application Engineer specialized in eDiscovery applications to provide expert-level technical support and system management. The role demands strong problem-solving skills, SQL scripting expertise, and mentoring capabilities. You will be an active member of the Operations team and report directly to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced, escalated support for applications like Relativity and Brainspace, collaborating with engineering teams on complex technical challenges.
• Improve application security, reliability, and performance through regular updates, vulnerability corrections, and managing system uptime with careful planning during maintenance windows.
• Oversee and maintain technology platforms including SQL servers, RabbitMQ, and Elastic through installation, configuration, and patching.
• Create and execute SQL scripts to generate reports and handle data within eDiscovery databases.
• Manage escalated tickets efficiently, maintain status updates, adhere to hand-off protocols, and escalate unresolved issues as necessary.
• Develop and maintain extensive technical documentation including FAQs, knowledge bases, troubleshooting manuals, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior staff to elevate their technical expertise in managing intricate cases.
• Adapt to varied tasks amid evolving technology landscapes and participate in alert responses and on-call scheduling for critical issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum five years of experience in IT or eDiscovery environments.
• Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) credential or equivalent practical experience.
• Advanced skills in SQL with a strong command of T-SQL dynamic query creation.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and support tasks.
• Competence in profiling and monitoring network infrastructure, disk systems, and SQL servers.
• Solid understanding of IT concepts, protocols, industry standards, and ITIL frameworks.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Capability to operate independently with minimal guidance and demonstrate initiative.
• Effective collaboration skills with geographically dispersed teams across multiple time zones.
• Willingness to occasionally work during evenings or weekends for planned or emergency maintenance.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Relativity Infrastructure Specialist (RIS) certification or related experience.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining Brainspace, Reveal, Nuix, LAW, or other eDiscovery platforms.
• Expertise in operating systems troubleshooting on Windows Server or Linux environments.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure management.
• Familiarity with Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar scripting and DevOps technologies.

Physical and Work Environment Details

• Ability to remain seated for extended periods working at a computer station.
