Application Engineer – 3D Scanning & Metrology

About the Role

Axisyn LLP is seeking a technically adept and motivated Application Engineer to enhance our offerings in 3D scanning, inspection, reverse engineering, and metrology technologies. This full-time position is based in Maharashtra with opportunities across India.

Responsibilities

• Conduct live 3D scanning demonstrations at client locations and company premises.
• Operate professional 3D scanning devices and associated software tools.
• Execute dimensional inspections, component measurements, and data comparisons.
• Support projects involving reverse engineering and 3D data creation.
• Prepare detailed inspection and scan data reports.
• Comprehend customer needs and recommend fitting scanning solutions.
• Lead technical presentations and product showcases for clients.
• Deliver application and technical assistance post-sales and installation.
• Train clients on scanner usage and fundamental software procedures.
• Travel is required for on-site demonstrations, scanning jobs, technical training, and support.
• Collaborate with the sales team to align technical solutions with customer requirements.
• Prepare technical quotations, application notes, and demonstration documentation as needed.
• Participate in trade exhibitions, industry events, and facilitate customer visits.
• Maintain accurate documentation of projects, demos, and applications.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Production, Mechatronics, Automobile, Manufacturing engineering, or related fields.
• 0–3 years experience preferred; fresh candidates with strong technical foundations are encouraged.
• Basic understanding of 3D scanning, metrology, CAD/CAM, GD&T, dimensional inspection, and reverse engineering concepts.
• Experience or familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or Creo is advantageous.
• Knowledge of 3D scanning or inspection software is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Basic grasp of manufacturing processes including machining, casting, sheet metal, molding, and fabrication.
• Good computer proficiency and aptitude for learning technical software rapidly.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Self-motivated, customer-centric outlook, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Readiness to travel nationally for client engagements.
• Capable of documentation and reporting effectively.
• Positive approach with eagerness to acquire new technological knowledge.

Additional Information

Training on 3D scanning hardware and inspection workflows is provided for freshers. Candidates with exposure to CMM, quality inspection, metrology, reverse engineering, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing are preferred.

Compensation

This position offers a monthly salary ranging from 12,000 to 22,000 INR.
