Opportunity Overview

We are looking for an Application Architect responsible for defining, maintaining, and governing the Application Architecture within enterprise and banking contexts. This critical role involves crafting both the current and target application landscapes, establishing application and integration standards, and ensuring all designs align with approved Enterprise Architecture frameworks. Collaboration is essential, as this position works closely with Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Security, Data, Infrastructure, and development teams to support modernization, rationalization, integration, and transformation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and uphold the Application Architecture and overall application landscape.
• Create and update current-state and future-state application architecture models.
• Set principles, standards, and guidelines for application architecture.
• Design application components including their interactions and dependencies.
• Govern integration and API structures and standards.
• Evaluate application dependencies, impacts, and technology risks.
• Identify discrepancies between current and target application architectures.
• Ensure application designs conform to Enterprise Architecture guidelines.
• Review and authorize architecture and solution design proposals.
• Promote initiatives to modernize, rationalize, and transform application portfolios.
• Align application architecture to business capabilities and requirements.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Solution and Enterprise Architects, Security, Data, Infrastructure, and developers.
• Maintain comprehensive application repositories, architecture models, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor adherence to approved architectural standards and principles.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Application Architecture, Solution Architecture, Software Architecture, or similar roles.
• Preferably experienced within banking or financial services sectors.
• Exposure to SAMA-regulated environments is advantageous.
• Proficient in designing application architectures and managing application landscapes.
• Knowledgeable in API, integration methodologies, and distributed system architectures.
• Hands-on experience with application modernization, rationalization, and transformation projects.
• Solid understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles and frameworks.
• Experienced in architecture governance, conducting design reviews, and setting technology standards.
• Strong grasp of application dependencies, interfaces, and integration patterns.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management competencies.
• Certifications such as TOGAF or AWS/Azure Architecture are highly preferred.
