Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced API Automation Test Engineer with 2 to 13 years of expertise in software testing. This full-time role is based in Bangalore, Pune, or Chennai.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Develop and execute API automation test cases for RESTful APIs and Web Services including JSON and XML payloads.
- Utilize tools such as Rest Assured, Postman, and Swagger/OpenAPI to automate API testing.
- Employ programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for test development.
- Implement test frameworks and build tools including TestNG, JUnit, Maven, and Gradle.
- Leverage version control systems like Git to manage test scripts.
- Integrate testing processes within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
- Apply Agile methodologies and follow SDLC/STLC procedures throughout testing cycles.
- Conduct database testing and backend validation through SQL queries.
- Track and manage defects using tools such as JIRA or Azure Boards.
- Understand and test API authentication and security protocols including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Basic Authentication.
- Perform integration, regression, and microservices testing to ensure system integrity.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
