Job description
About Supabase
Supabase is a comprehensive Postgres development platform crafted by developers to support developers. It offers a full backend solution including Database, Authentication, Storage, Edge Functions, Real-time features, and Vector Search. All services are intricately integrated and designed to scale with growth.
Role Overview
The Partnerships division at Supabase consists of various segments such as Integration Partners, Solution Partners, Cloud, Marketplace, and Startups, each governed by a global strategy. The APAC Partnerships Lead will implement these strategies within the Asia-Pacific region. This role is broad, covering multiple partner types rather than a single function, combining new partner acquisition with activation of existing global partnerships wherever regional demands are greatest.
This position is based in Singapore and requires significant in-person engagement to develop senior partner relationships and leverage co-selling and co-marketing opportunities. The role reports to the Head of Partnerships and involves collaboration with global function leads and APAC colleagues. As the partner network in the region expands, the role is expected to evolve and specialize accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize, and close new partnership opportunities across Integration, Solution, Cloud, Marketplace, and Startup categories in APAC, including smaller regional solution partners and resellers that help open the market.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of potential partners spanning all partnership areas within the region.
- Localize and activate globally sourced partnerships for the APAC market through regional enablement, co-selling, co-marketing, and tailored commercial terms.
- Ensure that global partner programs and incentives effectively translate to APAC partners, customers, and startups.
- Collaborate with each sub-function lead to adapt global strategies into executable regional plans.
- Highlight and address instances where global strategies do not align with APAC market conditions, working alongside functional leads to adapt appropriately.
- Represent Supabase at regional partner and developer events and cultivate relationships with local partner organizations.
Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of experience in partnerships, business development, or channel roles, specifically with proven success in onboarding and managing partnerships within APAC.
- Proven ability to work across diverse partner categories, including technology integrations, system integrators, and startup ecosystems, without relying on a single established playbook.
- Experience in establishing a regional function within a company previously concentrated in a different geographical area.
- Strong commercial acumen applicable to various partner types and counterparties.
- Capability to work autonomously across large timezone differences, exercising good judgment about when synchronous communication is required.
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate when regional realities diverge from global strategies.
- Background in developer tools, database technologies, or infrastructure software.
- Established senior-level network of partners in APAC encompassing technology vendors, system integrators, and startup ecosystems, with the credibility to engage senior stakeholders immediately.
Preferred Extras
- Existing relationships within AWS’s APAC partner organization are highly preferred; alternatively with GCP or Azure equivalents.
- Proficiency in a relevant regional language such as Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, or Bahasa Indonesia.
Benefits and Perks
- Fully remote working opportunity with global hiring. Supabase provides a WeWork membership or coworking allowance usable worldwide.
- Equity ownership through Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) for all team members, enabling shared benefit from company growth.
- Tech allowance to create an optimal workplace setup including devices and accessories.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage for employees and 80% coverage for dependents worldwide.
- Annual company-wide off-site gatherings in various cities to encourage connection and collaboration.
- Flexible work culture emphasizing asynchronous operations and trust in time management.
- Annual professional development budget for courses, books, conferences, or learning resources supporting personal growth.
About the Team
- Supabase is a born-remote and open-source-first organization.
- Team of approximately 400 members distributed across more than 60 countries.
- Diverse team with over 20 languages spoken.
- Raised over $1 billion, including a recent $500 million Series F round.
- Engaged community exceeding 540,000 members.
Supabase emphasizes rapid development, open public progress, and use of their own products. The company values the open-source ecosystem and intends to support rather than replace existing tools and communities.
