Role Overview
- Design and develop Android applications utilizing Kotlin and Jetpack Compose frameworks.
- Lead efforts to modernize mobile applications by migrating from legacy Android frameworks to contemporary architectures.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, product teams, and engineers to deliver innovative digital banking solutions focused on customer experience.
- Develop and maintain reusable components, design systems, and scalable application architectures.
- Integrate Android apps with APIs, cloud services, payment gateways, and enterprise-level backend systems.
- Enhance application performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Implement security best practices compliant with banking and regulatory standards.
- Support continuous integration and deployment processes, including automated testing and DevSecOps practices.
- Mentor fellow developers and contribute to technical leadership initiatives within the team.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience developing Android applications.
- Expertise in Kotlin programming language, Jetpack Compose UI toolkit, Android SDK, and Android Architecture Components.
- Demonstrated experience delivering applications in digital banking, payment systems, or financial services domains.
- Exposure to New Zealand's banking sector environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of architectural patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture, dependency injection techniques, and modular development practices.
- Hands-on experience integrating APIs, microservices, and cloud-based platforms.
- Understanding of mobile application security, authentication, encryption protocols, and secure coding standards.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automated testing frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
