About Flink
Founded in 2021, Flink revolutionizes quick commerce by prioritizing customers' time and convenience. The company allows users to shop from over 3,000 groceries and household essentials via a user-friendly app, delivering orders within minutes. Operating with full sustainability in mind, Flink utilizes an all-electric delivery fleet, recyclable packaging, and efforts to minimize food waste. It has grown into a substantial operation with 160 hubs and services over 22 million people across Germany and the Netherlands.
Driven by a team of more than 10,000 employees, including a salaried rider network, Flink has demonstrated financial strength by generating revenues exceeding €550 million in 2025. With major investments from top-tier partners, the company is poised for significant expansion and refinement of its processes.
The corporate culture embraces action-oriented ownership, continuous improvement, close frontline engagement, and diversity as a critical asset.
Role Overview
As an Analytics Engineer at Flink, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the company’s data framework within the Operations department. Beyond routine report generation, you will collaborate strategically with Customer Care, Operations, Finance, and Revenue teams. You will take responsibility for the entire data transformation pipeline, converting raw inputs into reliable and scalable data assets. Maintaining the data quality, performance, and adaptability of the analytics infrastructure during scaling is crucial. Operating autonomously, you will manage stakeholder engagement and drive long-term development of reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the data transformation layer using dbt, ensuring scalability and performance by addressing technical debt and adopting modern methodologies.
- Engage actively with business leaders to grasp their challenges deeply, moving beyond mere task execution to proactively shaping data solutions.
- Own the lifecycle of significant reporting domains, taking charge of data model integrity, accuracy, and evolution to support core business functions.
- Promote engineering excellence within the team, implementing continuous integration/continuous deployment, thorough testing, and version control standards.
- Serve as the connector between product, engineering, and business units to synchronize data infrastructure growth with product expansion, reducing the need for constant oversight.
Required Qualifications
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand operational and financial nuances to build insightful analytics models.
- Proficient in modern data stack tools, especially SQL, dbt, Looker or equivalent BI platforms, and cloud data warehouse management.
- Commitment to producing trustworthy data by adhering to clean coding practices, comprehensive documentation, and diligent testing.
- Excellent communication skills in English allowing the translation of complex technical concepts into clear business insights.
- Advanced skills in SQL, preferably with Google BigQuery, and extensive experience designing efficient data models for voluminous, intricate datasets.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining data models using dbt and creating user-centric interfaces within Looker, including writing LookML.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a starting gross annual salary ranging from €65,000 to €75,000 for a full-time 40-hour workweek.
Additional benefits include:
- An annual learning and development budget of €1000 and personalized coaching opportunities for professional growth.
- 26 vacation days per year with an incremental increase up to 30 days.
- A monthly mobility allowance of €35 to subsidize the Deutschland Ticket.
- Discounted access to Urban Sports Club memberships.
- Attractive company pension schemes.
- Unlimited access to the Prosus Academy e-learning platform, including online German language classes.
- Online shopping discounts through Corporate Benefits and Future Bens programs.
- Exclusive discounts on personal Flink orders and early access to new products.
- A contemporary, pet-friendly office located centrally in Berlin with numerous convenient dining options nearby.
