Role Overview

The American English Tutor is tasked with providing engaging and precise instruction in American English accent through online one-to-one or small group classes. Daily responsibilities involve creating lesson plans that align with learners' goals, teaching aspects such as grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, and conversational abilities. Tutors will evaluate student progress, offer feedback, and modify teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and proficiency levels. Additional duties include maintaining detailed records, liaising with families or adult learners about development, and employing digital tools to develop interactive content. This position is full-time and remote.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of American English accent, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and writing skills.
• Experience in tutoring, teaching, or coaching English language or related areas.
• Competency in lesson planning, setting educational goals, and customizing teaching to individual learners.
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms, video conferencing software, and digital learning materials.
• Excellent communication capabilities, patience, and a focus on student-centered and inclusive instruction.
• Strong organizational aptitude for scheduling, monitoring progress, and managing multiple students.
• Preferably holds a Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related discipline.
• Experience with K–12 learners, adults, or test prep courses (such as TOEFL or SAT verbal) is advantageous.
