Role Overview

We seek a dedicated Airport Reporting Officer to join our Airport Team based remotely in Kununurra. The officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR) Part 139, Aerodrome Manuals, and applicable Safety Management Systems at East Kimberley Regional Airport (EKRA).

Key Duties

  • Execute assigned maintenance programs including performing minor repairs on airport infrastructure such as pavements, runways, markings, lighting, drainage, wind indicators, visual slope indicators, fencing, and other critical airport facilities at Kununurra and Wyndham Airports in accordance with Manual of Standards (MOS) 139 and the Aerodrome Manual.
  • Oversee terminal and airside security control following the Aviation Transport Security Act (ATSA) 2004, Aviation Transport Security Regulations (ATSR) 2005, and Kununurra Airport Transport Security Program (TSP), which involves managing airside access, escort duties, and issuing Visitor Identification Cards (VIC).
  • Implement and enforce the Safety Management System (SMS) protocols to ensure safe operations by all personnel in airside and aircraft movement zones.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation for gardens, lawns, open areas (both airside and landside), airport terminals, and facilities at all times.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with Aviation Security Identification Cards (ASIC) and control airside vehicle operations according to the Airport Manual and TSP.

Mandatory Qualifications and Certifications

  • Senior First Aid certificate
  • Unrestricted Western Australia 'C' Class Driver's License
  • Current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Aerodrome Reporting Officer & Aerodrome Works Safety Officer Certificates from recognized authorities
  • Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Certificate of Proficiency
  • White Construction Safety Card

Salary and Benefits

The role offers an annual salary range of $80,000 to $89,999. Additional benefits include:
