Aircraft Technician - Base Maintenance

Role Overview

Within Base Maintenance, skilled engineers provide exceptional service for all aircraft inspections, ranging from comprehensive checks to significant system repairs. The team manages cabin upgrades, aircraft deliveries, and detailed inspection routines specifically for Airbus A380, A350 and Boeing 777 models.

The group excels in delivering prompt, cost-efficient solutions for A & C checks, engine replacements, landing gear swaps, as well as unplanned maintenance and pre-service evaluations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform standard servicing and maintenance tasks on aircraft, engines, and components, including approved structural repairs as per manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during fluid refills, refuelling, and system charging or servicing.
• Conduct component replacements and related maintenance duties as instructed by supervisors, utilizing Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), Structural Repair Manual (SRM), and other official OEM manuals.
• Assist Licensed Aircraft Engineers and Approved/Licensed Technicians with troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications in line with job cards, ensuring timely completion to avoid delays, preparing work based on aircraft status, promptly reporting defects, and supporting accurate shift transitions.
• Champion a robust safety culture by mitigating risks, reporting deficiencies, and keeping work areas clean and Baggage and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) free. Routinely audit toolboxes, vehicles, and equipment while complying with all airport safety requirements, including possessing a valid Airport Driving Permit and following manoeuvring area regulations.
• Support team goals and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts through collaboration with colleagues.
• Apply current aircraft maintenance knowledge and experience to assist with resource management (via RMS/RTC software as required) and departmental projects when necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience.
• Vocational diploma or equivalent academic credential (12+2) in engineering or related field.
• Completion of an apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent training with a recognized airline or approved aircraft maintenance organization, or holding an Engineering Aircraft Maintenance License.
• Practical experience in an aircraft engineering setting, including no less than two years of hands-on training within an airline or approved maintenance facility.
• Role designated as safety sensitive and PSMP (Performance and Safety Management Program) applicable.
