Aircraft Painter

Role Overview

The Aircraft Painter is entrusted with preparing aircraft surfaces through sanding and other methods for painting, mixing and applying paint products efficiently within allotted man-hour budgets. This role demands adherence to project schedules while upholding strict quality benchmarks, and compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Mix paint and prepare surfaces for painting
• Apply paint using work instructions accurately
• Prepare overlapping areas for finish consistency
• Perform small paint touch-ups (up to 1 liter maximum)
• Utilize paint tools correctly with thorough understanding of their applications
• Know different paint types and their proper application techniques
• Execute all tasks adhering to Bombardier’s quality and safety policies
• Conduct visual inspections to detect non-conformities and validate success criteria
• Maintain daily timecards and ensure accurate records of snag/task cards
• Exhibit punctuality, detail-orientation, and effective time management

Qualifications and Expectations

• Minimum 2 years experience painting business or similar aircraft
• Ability to follow company documentation including procedures and preparation guides
• Capable of working effectively in confined spaces
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with or without accommodation
• Possess a diploma, trade certificate, or equivalent qualification
