Aircraft Mechanic – Light Maintenance

About the Role

We are seeking an Aircraft Mechanic specializing in Light Maintenance to join our team in Doha, Qatar. This position involves performing critical aircraft maintenance tasks to support operational needs within a Line/Light Maintenance environment under supervisor guidance. All activities must adhere strictly to company protocols, approved maintenance instructions, and applicable aviation regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct transit, daily, and weekly inspections as specified by authorized maintenance documentation.
• Assist with A-check maintenance operations within the scope defined by company guidelines.
• Provide prompt and effective responses to Aircraft On Ground (AOG) situations to ensure minimal downtime.
• Use approved manuals and technical references to troubleshoot and isolate faults efficiently.
• Carry out component replacements, adjustments, and minor repairs within assigned permissions.
• Accurately record all maintenance actions in the Technical Log and Cabin Log.
• Adhere to Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) compliance procedures, ensuring faults are correctly rectified or deferred.
• Utilize AMOS or relevant maintenance software for tracking tasks, updates, and documentation purposes.
• Skilfully interpret Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), Structural Repair Manual (SRM), and other technical publications.
• Observe all safety protocols including tool control, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, and application of Human Factors principles.
• Ensure compliance with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate effectively with Production and support teams to meet scheduled operational deadlines.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety in the workplace.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a High School or Vocational Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant work experience, OR a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 2 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Hold a degree, diploma, or license in Aircraft Maintenance.
• Basic ICAO type aircraft maintenance license is required.
• Engineering diploma in aviation is desirable.
• Able to repair machines or systems using appropriate tools.
• Capable of selecting the correct tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Experience operating and controlling maintenance equipment or systems.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting aircraft maintenance technical documentation.
• Understanding of cabin interior fundamentals relevant to the role.
