Role Overview
The position of Air & Ocean Freight Forwarder is a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Dublin area, combining on-site presence with remote work. The role involves overseeing and coordinating international shipments via air and sea. Key duties include booking freight space, preparing necessary documentation, arranging prompt pickups and deliveries, monitoring export procedures, tracking shipment progress, and communicating with carriers and other logistics partners. The freight forwarder handles daily customer communications by providing shipment status updates, addressing inquiries, and ensuring compliance with service standards and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role includes collaborating with internal teams to optimize freight transport solutions and maintaining precise records within transport management systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proficient in freight forwarding operations managing global shipments.
- Experienced in export documentation, compliance procedures, and customs formalities.
- Strong customer service aptitude managing client communications and resolving issues effectively.
- Well-versed in freight transport processes for both air and ocean carrier services.
- Background in logistics, supply chain, or transport coordination, preferably in an international context.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to accuracy, and ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with capability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with office productivity tools and transport management software; knowledge of export regulations is advantageous.
- Capacity to work autonomously in a hybrid environment, adjusting to evolving priorities and client needs.
