About the Role
The position involves managing QV.AC, a privacy-focused AI assistant running locally on devices, aimed at granting users more control over their personal data and AI usage. The focus is on cutting-edge, on-device AI integration that aligns with Tether’s peer-to-peer ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Product Lead to turn the vision for QV.AC into usable AI features by developing use cases and product requirements based on user needs and research.
- Conduct user research and gather feedback to understand AI application problems and identify opportunities for effective AI solutions versus simpler alternatives.
- Create detailed product documents including briefs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and user flows to clearly communicate product expectations and success metrics.
- Design prototypes, wireframes, and mockups using AI-assisted tools to iterate concepts and facilitate team understanding.
- Work closely with engineers on balancing technical trade-offs related to AI features like response quality, latency, memory and battery consumption, and privacy considerations.
- Assist in product prioritization and backlog management to align development efforts with strategic goals.
- Oversee assigned features through the development lifecycle, addressing issues, reviewing functionalities, and coordinating releases.
- Keep updated on emerging AI technologies, assess their relevance to QV.AC, and provide recommendations for trials and adoption.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years in product management with a background in AI software product development and collaboration with engineering teams.
- Practical experience with AI-powered feature creation, including prototyping and deployment, coupled with insights gained from such projects.
- A solid grasp of AI concepts such as inference mechanisms, model capabilities and constraints, and evaluation methods, with specific interest in local and on-device AI.
- Strong ability to convert vague ideas into clear user problems, actionable solutions, and precise requirements.
- Excellent product judgment focusing on usability, scope control, and delivering measurable user benefits.
- Proficiency in creating prototypes, either through design or coding.
- Clear and effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- A proactive, team-oriented work style that embraces responsibility, early questioning, and constructive feedback integration.
- Familiarity with product analytics, iterative development, and user research methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with on-device AI processing, local AI implementations, or open-source AI models.
- Development experience with AI assistants, conversational user interfaces, or multimodal interaction features.
- Exposure to desktop or mobile application product development.
- Knowledge of peer-to-peer networks and decentralized applications.
- Competence in evaluating AI outputs and designing user experiences that account for AI uncertainty and error handling.
- Experience working in distributed, remote teams.
