Role Overview

The AI Technical Product Manager will focus on QV.AC, a general AI assistant designed to run locally on user devices to enhance privacy and control over AI interactions. This role involves working closely with the Product Lead to refine the product vision into actionable features, integrating AI advancements with user needs, and overseeing feature development through to release.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate the QV.AC vision into practical AI feature proposals and product requirements driven by user insights and experimentation.
• Conduct user research and feedback collection to identify effective AI use cases and simpler alternatives when appropriate.
• Create detailed product documentation including briefs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and user workflows to guide engineering and design teams.
• Develop prototypes and wireframes to validate ideas and facilitate team communication using AI-assisted tools.
• Collaborate with engineers to evaluate technical feasibility and impacts on performance, privacy, and usability across different devices.
• Assist in product backlog prioritization and planning, ensuring alignment with overarching goals and timelines.
• Manage assigned feature development cycles, addressing queries and coordinating feedback and launch preparations.
• Stay informed on AI technology trends, assess their relevance, and recommend adoption or experimentation strategies.

Required Qualifications

• Over seven years of product management experience, preferably with AI-focused software products and technical teams.
• Hands-on experience in developing or prototyping AI-powered features, with clear examples of personal contributions.
• Understanding of AI concepts such as model inference, capabilities and constraints, context, and evaluation mechanisms, and an interest in local and on-device AI.
• Ability to clarify ambiguous ideas into defined user problems, solutions, and actionable requirements.
• Strong product intuition emphasizing usability, scope control, and measurable user value.
• Competence in creating prototypes via design or coding tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to discuss technical nuances with engineers and non-technical stakeholders alike.
• A proactive and collaborative mindset, comfortable with accountability, early questioning, and incorporating feedback.
• Familiarity with product analytics, user research methodologies, and iterative development processes.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with local AI implementations, on-device inference, or open-source AI models.
• Background in developing AI assistants, conversational UI, or multimodal feature sets.
• Knowledge of desktop and mobile product development ecosystems.
• Understanding of peer-to-peer systems and decentralized applications.
• Experience designing user experiences accommodating AI output uncertainty and error handling.
• Experience working with remote and distributed teams.
