Role Overview

This position is ideal for an early-career individual—whether currently studying, recently graduated, or self-taught—passionate about AI and eager to create impactful tools used by businesses daily. The role involves a blend of technical development and client interaction, designing, building, and maintaining AI-based apps, agents, automations, and system integrations. Flexibility is given for full-time or part-time commitments, with the preference for remote work based ideally in Auckland.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI agents and assistant applications tailored to solve real business problems.
• Build web applications and database solutions to replace manual processes such as spreadsheets and paperwork.
• Create automated workflows that operate independently to improve operational efficiency.
• Integrate AI technologies with existing business software like accounting systems, job management tools, and Microsoft 365 platforms.
• Collaborate within a team and grow to independently manage client relationships and project scopes over time.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Currently studying or completed studies in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent self-taught experience demonstrable through projects.
• Practical experience building AI applications, even on a personal scale.
• Systems thinker who understands how components interrelate and communicate beyond just coding.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly and empathetically to non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated problem solver who proactively learns and adapts without requiring constant instructions.
• A personable and genuine individual with a passion for learning and growth.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Hands-on experience with AI agent platforms such as Claude or MCP.
• Knowledge of databases like Supabase or Postgres and lightweight front-end development.
• Familiarity with automation tools including Make or n8n.
• Exposure to Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Active involvement in side projects exhibiting creativity and enthusiasm.
