About the Role
Join PwC New Zealand as an AI Risk Business Partner and become a driving force in the responsible adoption and management of AI across the firm. You will collaborate widely to provide trusted guidance on AI risks, helping teams apply evolving policies and governance practices. This role is critical in embedding accountability and oversight as we leverage AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business units, engagement teams, and internal departments to understand AI usage and provide practical, business-centered risk advice.
- Interpret AI policies, governance frameworks, and risk requirements into straightforward guidance to empower confident decision-making.
- Advise on responsible AI applications, including applying professional judgement, ensuring human oversight, data quality, confidentiality, and appropriate escalation processes.
- Coordinate complex or emerging AI risk issues across specialist groups such as Technology Risk, Legal, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Data, and Risk & Quality teams.
- Create user-friendly resources including guidance documents, FAQs, decision aids, scenario planning, and conduct training to facilitate understanding and compliance.
- Organize briefings, workshops, and targeted educational sessions to strengthen responsible AI capabilities throughout the organization.
- Identify persistent challenges and emerging risks to inform improvements in AI controls, guidance, and operational procedures.
- Stay abreast of AI technological advancements and interpret their practical implications for PwC New Zealand.
Skills and Experience
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills, adept at engaging with diverse teams and seniority levels.
- Strong ability to simplify complex policies, risks, and technical concepts into accessible business guidance.
- Sound judgement in navigating ambiguous, novel, or evolving AI risks without clear-cut solutions.
- Experience working within environments focused on risk, governance, technology, controls, or regulated industries.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, capable of facilitating workshops and leading discussions with varied audiences.
- Genuine curiosity and interest in AI, emerging technologies, and balancing innovation with responsible use.
- Collaborative approach, skilled at integrating multiple specialist perspectives to achieve practical outcomes.
