Role Overview

As an AI & Process Automation Specialist within Checkout.com's Process Architecture pillar, you will transform operational workflows into automated, efficient processes, particularly for teams working in Disputes, Due Diligence, and Transaction Monitoring. Using modern AI-based development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, n8n, and LLM APIs, you will rapidly prototype and deploy internal tools that reduce manual tasks and enhance decision making.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage AI-assisted development platforms (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to quickly develop and launch tools for operational teams.
• Design and build workflow automations integrating case management systems, document repositories, APIs, and large language models (LLMs) into complete pipelines.
• Create user interfaces, triage systems, and summary generators for analysts through custom applications or tools like Retool.
• Utilize LLMs to decrease cognitive workload by automating classification, case summarization, data extraction, and decision support tasks.
• Work closely with teams in Disputes, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Periodic Review, and Transaction Monitoring to understand and improve actual analyst workflows.
• Identify inefficiencies such as slow processes and deliver practical automated solutions within weeks.
• Engage in iterative development by demonstrating early versions to users and incorporating feedback.
• Manage every tool as a product by tracking usage, gathering feedback, and quantifying time saved or quality improvements.
• Document your developments thoroughly and share reusable approaches to enhance cumulative knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience using AI coding assistants like Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot to build meaningful, functional projects beyond tutorials.
• Proficiency or rapid willingness to learn Python within weeks.
• Basic technical fluency with APIs including reading documentation, making requests, parsing responses, and chaining calls.
• Familiarity with at least one LLM API, including prompt construction, interpreting structured outputs, and troubleshooting errors.
• A bias toward rapid development and shipping minimum viable products.
• A curious mindset motivated to deeply understand systems rather than just use them.

Desirable Attributes

• Knowledge of workflow automation platforms such as Zapier, n8n, or Make.
• Experience with lightweight UI frameworks like Retool or Gradio.
• Basic familiarity with Git, SQL, or handling JSON/CSV data at scale.
• Some exposure to payment systems, fraud detection, compliance, or risk operations is a plus.
• A portfolio or GitHub repository showcasing relevant work is welcomed.
