Job Overview

As an AI Engineer focusing on AWS, you will design, develop, and deploy AI applications such as large language models (LLM), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and autonomous agents using tools like Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker. You will ensure seamless integration of AI components within client system landscapes, address data access and connectivity considerations, and manage operational aspects post-deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end AI solutions, transitioning prototypes into production-ready systems.
• Integrate AI components precisely into customer system infrastructures, including data access and operational setup.
• Develop automated deployment pipelines, implement model versioning and rollback strategies, and continuously monitor latency, cost, and model performance.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to evaluate AI use cases and advise on technical and economic feasibility.
• Ensure AI compliance and quality assurance by making model quality measurable and maintain transparency in line with regulations like EU AI Act and ISO 42001.
• Work as part of a team, engage in knowledge sharing through code reviews and internal sessions, and liaise closely with clients.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of professional experience building AI solutions beyond experimental environments, with systems used productively by others.
• Strong programming skills in Python with proficiency in at least one relevant framework such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, or LangChain.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, ideally with Amazon Bedrock or SageMaker platforms.
• Proficient in German (minimum C1 level) for customer communication and good English for documentation and international exchanges.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with fine-tuning or operating proprietary AI models.
• Knowledge in data engineering, container technologies, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Specialization areas such as computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), or time series analysis.
• Experience working in regulated industries requiring traceability and compliance.
• AWS certifications in AI/ML domains.
• Contributions to the tech community through open-source projects, publications, or presentations.
