Job description
About FacilityOS
FacilityOS is an innovative company reshaping facility management by consolidating safety, security, and daily operations within a single platform used worldwide. We are rapidly expanding and assembling a motivated and inquisitive team dedicated to making significant contributions. Our culture emphasizes collaboration, ownership, meaningful problem solving, and career growth, with in-office presence required twice weekly for enhanced teamwork.
Role Overview
The AI Engineer will report to the VP of Engineering and act as the primary technical lead for developing AI agents at FacilityOS. Positioned within the central engineering team, this role involves building the foundational pipelines, frameworks, and integrations that empower department-specific AI agents to be production-ready, scalable, and secure. While departments design their own agents, this role provides the technical architecture and support platform necessary for operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain the AI agent architecture including RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, and orchestration layers.
- Integrate various department-chosen AI tools into a unified, safe, and maintainable technical infrastructure.
- Manage the organization's AI tooling stack in collaboration with senior technical leadership, continuously assessing emerging technologies.
- Select and run agent orchestration platforms to coordinate multi-step workflows and task transfers.
- Integrate AI agents into core business applications such as Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams to enable agents to operate within existing workflows.
- Develop secure authentication and permissioning methods using technologies like Microsoft Graph API and OAuth.
- Create reusable integration patterns to minimize bespoke development for each departmental agent.
- Construct evaluation systems for agent performance including testing frameworks, metrics for accuracy, and regression tests of prompts and workflows.
- Implement safety measures to prevent hallucinations, unsafe outputs, and failures; enforce quality control before deployment.
- Provide standardized evaluation methods so departments can monitor and enhance their agents continuously.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to guarantee reliable, structured data availability for AI agents.
- Support the AI Tech/Integration SWAT by resolving technical challenges without assuming departmental ownership of agents.
- Convert department managers' requirements into technical implementations efficiently.
- Ensure AI agents comply with FacilityOS's ISO27001 and SOC2 Type 2 security standards from inception.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation and evidence for security reviews before deploying AI agents.
- Maintain ongoing security, monitoring, and logging protocols across all active agents.
- Advise AI program leads on technical risks and feasibility in portfolio planning.
- Assess automation opportunities before approving new headcount based on technical feasibility.
- Contribute to organizational standards and documentation for AI readiness.
Qualifications
- Proven experience developing production-grade AI/ML systems with expertise in agent frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, or large language model applications.
- Practical skills integrating APIs, orchestration tools, and third-party AI platforms into live environments.
- Knowledge of agent orchestration platforms such as OpenClaw or similar, with integration experience into Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of data pipeline creation and management of both structured and unstructured data.
- Familiarity with enterprise-grade security and compliance protocols including SOC2 and ISO27001 is advantageous.
- Ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders to translate their agent requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience within SaaS or enterprise technology sectors preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Employee Benefits
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage.
- Hybrid working model with partial remote work.
- Opportunities for career development and progression.
- Catered events along with snacks and beverages available onsite.
- Celebrations for birthdays and significant life events.
- Two major company parties annually.
Diversity and Inclusion
FacilityOS values diversity as essential to innovation and growth. We are an equal opportunity employer encouraging applications from all backgrounds and do not discriminate on any protected characteristics. Accommodations are provided for candidates with disabilities throughout the recruitment process upon request.
