Job description

Role overview

HSO is looking for an AI Architect to help build the next generation of AI-enabled cloud solutions. This position suits someone who is motivated by creating dependable, ethical, and high-impact AI systems, while also leading delivery and sharing expertise with others.

What you will do

In this role, you will shape AI strategy, design secure and scalable architectures, and work closely with customers and international teams. You will lead important projects, support technology adoption, and contribute to innovation across the business.

  • Create enterprise-wide AI strategies, governance models, and implementation frameworks.
  • Own the full delivery cycle for AI solutions, including migration, modelling, testing, and deployment.
  • Build scalable AI architectures and ensure responsible AI principles are applied.
  • Protect privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Coach technical teams and promote strong engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with customers to uncover opportunities and improve solutions.
  • Run workshops and help teams stay current on new and emerging technologies.

Technical focus

  • AI and ML deployment using containerisation, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric pipelines, and CI/CD practices.
  • Data engineering across ETL, data lakes, and streaming platforms.
  • Cloud-native solution design with Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and infrastructure as code.
  • MLOps and DataOps, including monitoring, retraining, and governance.
  • Model optimisation and performance tuning.
  • API architecture and integration using REST, gRPC, and MCP.
  • Full ML lifecycle knowledge from experimentation through production.
  • LLM and GenAI techniques such as prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and RAG.
  • Agentic AI patterns involving vector databases, semantic search, multi-agent workflows, and memory handling.
  • Security-conscious and responsible AI design.

Leadership expectations

  • Work alongside AI, Data, and Cloud Engineers to deliver solutions.
  • Convert business requirements into practical technical architecture.
  • Guide engineers and help establish cross-team best practices.
  • Operate comfortably in agile environments across the AI engineering lifecycle.

Experience and profile

  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience building AI solutions, models, and production governance frameworks.
  • Strong exposure to cloud technologies and enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated success in leading projects and teams from start to finish.
  • Ability to explain complex architecture clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical thinking, organisation, and problem-solving ability.
  • Interest in continuously learning and sharing new technologies.
  • Solid understanding of ethics, privacy, and security responsibilities.
