A client of ours, serving as the AI division of a top Real Estate Group, is pioneering the use of AI agents in practical property management tasks. Their existing platform actively supports a significant residential portfolio by leveraging extensive proprietary operational datasets, offering capabilities unmatched by competitors. They are currently looking for an AI Agent Engineer to join their core team based in Singapore, contributing to AI technology actively used in production environments.

Role Responsibilities

This position focuses on architecting and delivering conversational AI agents critical to residents and property management teams. The engineer will manage feature development end-to-end, handling everything from prompt engineering, integrating tool calls and retrieval mechanisms, managing conversational flows, to developing backend Java services and monitoring dashboards. The platform is under active expansion to incorporate broader functionalities, and your contribution will be central to this growth. The role offers significant autonomy and close collaboration with product and operations colleagues, embracing modern AI development tools as standard engineering practice.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Ideal candidates bring approximately four or more years of software engineering experience with demonstrated deployment of Large Language Model (LLM) features in live environments, including implementations involving tool integration and retrieval augmented generation—not mere prototypes or internal demonstrations. Candidates should have hands-on experience with at least one conversational agent framework and vector search technologies, as well as a solid understanding of challenges encountered when deploying AI to production and the measures to address them.

Strong backend development expertise is required including API design, relational database management, and managing production systems. Daily proficiency in Java is essential since both the platform and its agents are Java-based. Familiarity with Spring Boot is advantageous though strong Java developers are expected to learn it swiftly. Above all, candidates should demonstrate self-driven ownership, the ability to independently translate product needs into functional features, and effective communication skills within a distributed team to ensure successful delivery.
