Job Overview
Reconn Utility Services is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Advanced Locate Technician at our Westerville, OH location. This position offers a starting salary range of $21 to $32 per hour, depending on previous experience. Role Responsibilities
As an Advanced Locate Technician, your primary responsibility will be the accurate and safe locating of underground utility lines. Duties include a thorough search to identify all utilities within a designated area, proper marking of their locations, accurate completion of paperwork, and comprehensive documentation of each locate using company-provided laptop and smartphone technology. You will be working outdoors in various weather conditions. Daytime full-time schedules are standard with occasional overtime requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of one year experience in utility locating is essential.
- Capability and willingness to perform work outdoors across different weather conditions; prior outdoor work experience is advantageous.
- Availability for overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call duties as necessary.
- Ability to perform local travel during work hours with possible out-of-area and overnight travel.
- Successful clearance of a drug screening, as this is a safety-sensitive role.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extensive periods on various terrains, bend, stoop, and lift weights up to 75 pounds.
- Color vision sufficient to differentiate utility markings accurately.
- Proficiency with technology tools used for locating tasks.
- Capability to interpret and understand locate tickets, maps, and technical prints; basic mathematical skills for distance calculations.
- Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners; customer service experience considered beneficial.
