Job description
Role Purpose
This role involves coordinating Care Assistants to ensure high-quality, timely, and safe care is delivered to customers in their own homes. It requires excellent organizational and communication skills along with a calm and supportive approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange and oversee Care Assistant rosters, matching staff skills and availability with customer needs and preferences, ensuring care plans are followed precisely.
- Recruit and coordinate appropriate staff numbers and skill mixes, managing cover for absences such as sickness or holidays.
- Promptly process new care referrals and updates to existing customers' care requirements.
- Maintain efficient scheduling to support Care Assistants’ work-life balance and maximize effectiveness.
- Adjust rotas as needed for emergencies or staff availability changes.
- Distribute rotas on a regular schedule and participate in out-of-hours emergency on-call duties after training and competency assessment.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper records, including travel logs and incident reports, ensuring data confidentiality.
- Perform general office duties and prepare reports as demanded by management.
- Communicate effectively with customers, their representatives, and health professionals, accommodating diverse communication needs.
- Collaborate with the wider team to deliver and continuously improve homecare services, following company policies at all times.

- Good knowledge of local geography including routes and traffic patterns.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and use initiative individually or within a team, especially during emergencies.
- Commitment to following organizational policies, procedures, and ongoing skills development.
Additional Conditions
- Flexibility in working hours and commitment to continual learning.
- Must provide satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance.
- Possession of a valid driving licence with fewer than six penalty points, business insurance, and a current MOT if using own vehicle for work.
