Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Analyst with 3 to 5 years in Property & Casualty (P&C) or Healthcare actuarial reserving to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be instrumental in transforming healthcare insurance through advanced data-driven approaches, aiding strategic decisions by integrating actuarial expertise with data science techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly reserving activities for Healthcare business lines, maintaining accuracy and regulatory adherence.
- Design and implement specialized reserving models for various Healthcare sectors, including Commercial (SME, Corporate) and Personal Lines.
- Perform profitability assessments for different Healthcare segments to guide strategic planning.
- Support regulatory submissions, particularly concerning IFRS17 standards.
- Engage with external actuaries, auditors, and reinsurers to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Undertake ad-hoc analytical projects as directed by the Head of Actuarial across multiple business lines.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends and best practices in actuarial and data science fields.
Technical and Operational Duties
- Work collaboratively with teams from actuarial, IT, risk management, claims, accounting, and audit to fulfill business requirements through data-driven healthcare reserving solutions.
- Apply a variety of reserving methodologies, including Chain Ladder, Mack, Bootstrap, and stochastic modeling techniques.
- Use industry-recognized software like ResQ and IBNRS to support reserving tasks.
- Employ advanced data science programming languages and tools such as SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, and C++ for data handling and analysis.
- Create dynamic visual reports and dashboards with tools like Power BI to effectively communicate complex insights.
- Utilize statistical and predictive modeling to detect patterns and assess risks in healthcare datasets.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure data security, smooth integration, and governance compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related disciplines.
- 3 to 5 years of significant experience in P&C or Healthcare actuarial reserving, with emphasis on healthcare reserving functions.
- Advanced SQL skills for robust data querying and transformation.
- Proficiency in programming languages R, Python, and C++, alongside familiarity with SAS and PostgreSQL.
- Experience in sophisticated statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and visualization using Power BI.
- Comprehensive understanding of P&C reserving methodologies such as Chain Ladder, Mack, Bootstrap stochastic modeling, and Bornhuetter-Ferguson.
- Strong communication abilities to clearly explain complex analytical results to varied stakeholders.
