Job description
Position Overview
The Acquisition Manager will operate within the Branch Banking department and report directly to the Branch Sales Manager. Based at the branch location, this full-time role focuses on acquiring new customers for liability products and enhancing relationships with existing clients through effective cross-selling and customer engagement strategies.
Core Responsibilities
- Acquire new customers for liability products from the open market.
- Support conversion of existing unsecured loan customers to liability accounts alongside the Customer Relationship Specialist (CRS).
- Enhance existing customer relationships by cross-selling products tailored to their profiles and requirements.
- Educate and assist customers in using ATMs and Business Correspondents (BCs), encouraging adoption of alternative banking channels.
- Meet assigned branch targets related to CASA (Current and Savings Accounts), Term Deposits, and segmented customer books including NR (Non-Resident), Senior Citizens, and High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs).
- Manage relationships with prospects, maintaining an updated database, and leveraging leads from branch staff, existing customer referrals, and alternative channels.
- Collaborate with CRS for field visits to convert existing borrowers into liability customers and cross-sell secured loans by generating quality leads for loan officers.
- Provide timely and courteous customer service, addressing queries related to accounts, fixed and recurring deposits, remittances, and third-party products.
- Guide customers through account opening procedures, verify KYC documents, and ensure legal compliance with all mandatory documentation.
- Strictly enforce adherence to KYC policies and promote usage of alternative banking channels such as ATMs and BCs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of liability products and other branch offerings, supporting CRS with product related queries.
- Complete all mandatory training and actively participate in performance review processes including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and appraisals within set deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate degree, preferably in Commerce or related disciplines.
- Minimum of three years of experience, ideally in sales roles.
- Certifications such as AMFI or IRDA are required.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of retail banking products.
- Capable documentation and process compliance skills.
- Excellent communication skills including fluency in the local language.
- Customer-centric approach with courteous service delivery.
- Effective time management and selling abilities.
- Experience with telephonic cold calling.
- Willingness to travel and relocate based on business needs and career development opportunities.
- Planning, organizing, execution capability, relationship management, and customer focus.
Interactions
- Collaborate internally with Unsecured Loans team (CRM, CRS), Secured Loans officers, operations staff, regional product and marketing teams, and state HR.
- Engage externally with BC agents.
