Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Senior Associate to join a dynamic and progressive accountancy firm based in Inverness, Scotland. This position offers a blend of technical accounting duties, client advisory, and mentoring responsibilities within a collaborative team environment and hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review annual financial statements for a diverse client base.
- Independently manage a portfolio of various business entities including partnerships, trusts, and companies.
- Support managers in planning and executing client engagements, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality.
- Lead advisory and project assignments across client portfolios.
- Supervise junior staff work by providing technical guidance and review.
- Assist clients with bookkeeping, VAT matters, and queries related to cloud accounting software.
- Develop strong, lasting relationships with clients and serve as their trusted advisor.
- Organise efficient work planning and scheduling for client projects.
- Support billing and financial oversight related to client work.
- Collaborate across departments to offer integrated client solutions.
- Mentor junior team members through coaching and knowledge transfer.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified or equivalent experience with ACA, ACCA, ICAS or AAT credentials.
- Prior experience in an accountancy practice environment.
- Competent in preparing accounts for a variety of business types.
- Strong technical accounting abilities with experience in reviewing work.
- Knowledgeable about bookkeeping and VAT processes.
- Familiarity with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage tight deadlines.
