About the Role
TAYOC COMPANY is seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team in Bulawayo Province, Zimbabwe. This role involves managing the end-to-end accounts payable processes, collaborating closely with the Accounts Payable Manager and Clerk to ensure timely vendor payments and accurate financial documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist vendors and internal parties by clarifying the accounts payable procedures.
- Verify vendor invoices, bank statements, tax forms, and ledger entries for accuracy.
- Process payments for invoices promptly to maintain vendor relationships.
- Investigate and resolve any outstanding invoices or receipt issues.
- Maintain up-to-date and precise financial records for all processed payments.
- Monitor and review company expenses to identify improvement opportunities.
- Generate detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Support the Accounts Payable Manager by collecting and analyzing financial data.
- Review vendor accounts for discrepancies and address payment process issues.
- Handle advance payment processing and invoice generation and approval.
- Schedule payment disbursements to vendors efficiently.
- Respond promptly and effectively to vendor payment inquiries.
- Prepare comprehensive payment documentation for auditing purposes.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in roles such as Accounting Assistant or Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and relevant legal frameworks.
- Experience with accounting software including Zoho Books, Wave, and Pabbly.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Capacity to operate under pressure and manage stressful situations effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational abilities and effective time management.
