Job description
Position Overview
Based in South Dublin, this full-time permanent role offers a salary range of 60,000-65,000 plus pension and healthcare benefits. Post-probation, the position offers one day of remote work per week. This vital role within a leading healthcare provider's finance department reports directly to the Financial Controller and oversees the Accounts Payable (AP) function and a team of three professionals. The manager will also play an instrumental role in an upcoming ERP system upgrade and should bring a dynamic approach along with extensive experience managing a high-volume AP environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and nurture the AP team by distributing workloads, tracking key performance indicators, and delivering continuous feedback and support.
- Manage the comprehensive AP workflow that includes invoice processing, approval cycles, payment executions, and prompt, accurate posting of transactions.
- Maintain ownership of the creditor ledger by ensuring vendor accounts are kept precise, and promptly addressing queries and reconciliations.
- Serve as the AP lead in the ERP upgrade project by contributing to functional specifications and aiding successful deployment.
- Seek and implement opportunities to enhance AP operations through process improvements, automation, and sustaining compliance and control standards.
- Develop and sustain strong supplier relationships, handling queries and managing escalations effectively.
- Assist in internal and external audit processes by preparing relevant documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Generate and analyze AP reports and metrics, including GRNI, to deliver actionable insights to management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of five years working experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment, with some experience in supervisory or managerial roles.
- Strong IT skills are essential; familiarity with Sage accounting software and data visualization tools is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational skills coupled with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills.
