About Coastline Gaming

Coastline Gaming stands as a prominent gaming and entertainment company in Ireland, operating eleven venues across both Ireland and Northern Ireland and running a rapidly expanding online casino. With over 40 years of industry experience, the company focuses on investing in its workforce and fostering growth.

Notably, Coastline Gaming embraces AI technologies company-wide, integrating AI tools into daily workflows across all departments, including senior management. New hires receive a professional AI technology set-up from their first day, paired with training to utilize these tools efficiently.

Role Overview

The Accounts Assistant position is central to the finance team and involves a broad range of tasks including payables, receivables, reconciliations, payroll, VAT, and financial reporting. The role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to engage directly with critical finance operations early on, under supportive handover arrangements.

You will report to the Financial Controller and have the ability to influence and enhance existing processes with the tools necessary to streamline operations.

The role is primarily based in Buncrana, with options for candidates located in Dublin to work in a hybrid arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle supplier invoice processing, aligning these with purchase orders and delivery notes, execute payment runs, generate sales and intercompany invoices with the assistance of AI tools to reduce repetitive tasks.
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts and payment gateway statements, leveraging AI to accelerate matching, detect anomalies, and ensure discrepancies are thoroughly investigated and resolved.
  • Manage payroll processing including PAYE, PRSI, USC, handle employee onboarding and offboarding, and submit accurate VAT returns in compliance with Revenue deadlines.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly management reports actively used by the business, assist with month-end closing activities, and utilize AI to analyze expenses, identify trends, and uncover cost-saving opportunities more effectively than conventional spreadsheets.
  • Continuously evaluate processes for opportunities to increase efficiency, eliminate redundant steps, and automate tasks where possible, empowered to implement improvements.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience working in payables, receivables, or reconciliations, ideally with familiarity in accounting software and payroll systems.
  • Usage of AI platforms such as ChatGPT or Claude for practical work applications, coupled with eagerness to expand this expertise.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities without compromising accuracy.
  • Strong initiative to identify needs and take action, including the capability to critically assess financial processes and recommend enhancements.
  • A relevant professional qualification like a part-qualified ACCA or ACA is beneficial but not obligatory.

Additional Information

  • Workplace: Based either fully in the office at Buncrana or through a hybrid work model for those in Dublin.
