Role Summary
We seek an Accounting Operations Lead for our International division based in Cork, Ireland. This key position within our fast-paced accounting team involves overseeing international accounting activities as the lead at the Cork site. This role presents outstanding opportunities for growth alongside the company’s global expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for designated entities.
- Handle General Ledger duties including review and preparation of monthly management reports.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis on balance sheets and income statements, and perform account reconciliations to support management reporting.
- Prepare and verify journal entries with appropriate supporting documents.
- Assist in group financial and statutory audits annually.
- Lead and ensure compliance with SOX and other internal controls.
- Support mergers and acquisitions involving international subsidiaries including integration tasks.
- Champion automation and process improvement initiatives in coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Implement and maintain new accounting policies as required.
- Coordinate effectively with key stakeholders and business partners across locations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in a comparable role.
- Experience in general accounting both in industry and public accounting firms, particularly with international subsidiaries.
- Proven capability in managing end-to-end accounting close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and practices.
- Proficient with accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Omnea, Workday, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills suitable for a global, remote collaboration environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and stakeholder management expertise.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing business environments, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred)
- Experience with international payroll processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards is preferred.
