Role Overview
The position of Accounting Associate is temporary, spanning approximately two to three months and requires the candidate to work on-site in Doha, Qatar. The incumbent will assist in accounting activities including financial audits and reaudits, verification of data, journal entry preparation and posting, financial statement preparation and review, and accurate documentation of freight and logistics transactions.
This role includes account reconciliation tasks, monitoring payables and receivables, reviewing previous year's entries, and aiding in month-end and year-end closure processes. The Accounting Associate will use accounting software tools, collaborate with internal departments to collect financial information, and maintain organized records for audits and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong grounding in Finance and Accounting principles and practices
- Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements and managing journal entries
- Analytical capabilities to interpret financial data, detect discrepancies, and assist in financial decision-making
- Proficiency with accounting software and digital financial tools including spreadsheets
- Relevant diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years professional experience, preferably in logistics, freight, or supply chain finance
- High attention to detail, data accuracy, and capability of managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic logistics environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
