Job description
Position Summary
The Accountant-General is responsible for verifying the accuracy of figures, journal entries, and documentation. This role involves organizing and safeguarding all financial files, cash, and cash equivalents in line with company policies and procedures. The incumbent will record, access, analyze, and manage computerized financial information, classify and summarize financial data using journals, ledgers, and computer systems, and prepare a variety of reports including financial, auditing, payroll, and statistical tables.
Responsibilities include completing period-end closing procedures, preparing and issuing bills, invoices, and account statements as per company standards, as well as managing overdue accounts and vendor invoice follow-ups until payment is received. Daily consolidation of cash deposits handled by cash employees is required alongside documentation and management of any cash variances. The role also encompasses the administration of cashier banks and contracts.

The employee must adhere strictly to all company policies, maintain a professional personal appearance, and protect confidential and proprietary information. Excellent communication skills are essential, including professional telephone etiquette and accurate preparation and review of documentation. Physically, the role requires the capability to move or lift objects up to 10 pounds. Promoting a positive, collaborative work environment and responding constructively to colleagues' concerns is expected. Additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors are part of the position.
Qualifications
- Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- At least one year of relevant work experience in related financial or accounting roles.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No specific licenses or certifications needed.
