Job description

Company Overview

This is an exciting opportunity with a fast-growing international fintech company that provides flexible financing solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises. Founded originally in Australia, the company has expanded its presence to the Asia-Pacific region and Europe. To date, it has granted financing exceeding 5 billion USD and continues on a strong growth trajectory.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

  • Manage the ongoing accounts payable and accounts receivable bookkeeping for the company's European entities, ensuring all entries are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Process incoming invoices, maintain supplier master data, and assist with payment runs.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet and clearing accounts, credit card statements, and expense reports, independently resolving any discrepancies.
  • Record and reconcile loan transactions and other bulk payments; support commission calculations and their associated payments.
  • Participate actively in month-end closing activities, including profit & loss and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Serve as a primary contact for external tax consultants, accounting, and payroll service providers; track outstanding issues and escalate if necessary.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Approximately 2 to 4 years of hands-on operational accounting experience, not primarily auditing or supervisory roles.
  • Proven practical skills in accounts payable and receivable, financial accounting, invoice verification, payment processing, credit card and expense accounting, and account reconciliations.
  • Experience conducting month-end closings and thoroughly investigating discrepancies until resolved.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity working with multiple companies, countries, or in an international organizational context.
  • Exposure to German or Luxembourgish corporate accounting practices is preferred.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken German and English at a business level.

Additional Advantages

  • Experience using Xero or other cloud-based accounting software.
  • Background in fintech, credit, financial services, or other transaction-heavy environments.

Compensation and Work Conditions

The position is full-time and based onsite in Munich, suitable for candidates living within commuting distance. The annual gross salary ranges between €60,000 and €90,000. A valid work permit for Germany is required.

Application Process

Applications are handled through a structured recruitment process that includes a brief online assessment aimed at understanding candidates' thought processes and working styles. The assessment takes approximately 15–20 minutes and must be completed to advance in selection. Applicants should monitor their email inbox (including spam folders) for communications and ensure emails from the company domain are not blocked.
