Role Overview

We are searching for a full-time Accountant to join our team under a hybrid work setup, primarily based in Moonee Ponds, VIC, with possibilities of remote work flexibility. Your core responsibilities will include handling everyday accounting duties such as developing financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, and conducting account reconciliations. You will also prepare and review tax returns, ensure compliance with Australian regulatory requirements, and assist in BAS, GST, and various statutory reports.

Key Duties

• Prepare and review financial documentation including statements and reconciliations.
• Manage taxation tasks encompassing income tax, GST, BAS reporting and compliance.
• Analyze financial records and develop management reports offering actionable client insights.
• Communicate effectively with clients addressing queries and collaborate internally to maintain service accuracy and timeliness.

Candidate Requirements

• Solid grasp of accounting principles and practical skills in financial statement preparation and account reconciliations.
• Experience in Australian tax matters coupled with familiarity with statutory reporting obligations.
• Competency in popular accounting software such as Xero or MYOB, alongside advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
• Well-developed communication skills for client interaction and teamwork within a hybrid work environment.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines effectively, both independently and collaboratively.
• Relevant degree or qualification in Accounting or Finance, preferably with professional accreditation (CA or CPA) or progressing towards it.
• Previous exposure to public practice or chartered accounting firms is advantageous, as is a strong ethical and client-focused approach.
