Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a diligent Accountant to maintain and oversee our comprehensive financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements. This position involves managing day-to-day accounting tasks, reconciliations, payroll coordination, GST compliance, financial reporting, and supporting audit processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain precise books of accounts including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries in accounting software.
- Verify and document financial transactions with appropriate invoices, bills, vouchers, and supportive paperwork.
- Manage accounts payable by handling vendor bills and ensuring timely payments; track accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
- Reconcile vendor and customer ledgers, addressing any irregularities.
- Conduct regular bank and ledger reconciliations to monitor outstanding balances and detect mismatches.
- Coordinate payroll activities with HR, reviewing salary sheets, deductions, reimbursements, and incentives; maintain employee advance and settlement records.
- Assist with GST return preparations, statutory compliance, and maintain related documentation; liaise with consultants and auditors as needed.
- Prepare periodic financial MIS reports covering revenue, expenses, receivables, payables, cash flow, and assist management in financial analysis for decision-making.
- Verify employee and administrative expense claims against approved budgets, maintaining accurate records of advances and reimbursements.
- Facilitate audit processes by coordinating with auditors, providing necessary documentation, and ensuring thorough record maintenance.
- Oversee cash management including petty cash and banking transactions; prepare payment instructions for vendors and stakeholders to ensure punctual settlements.
- Adhere to company financial policies, identify accounting errors and implement corrective actions as required.
- Perform additional finance and accounting tasks assigned by management.
Additional Information
Salary: Monthly compensation ranges from INR 30,000 to 40,000.
Work Location: Chandigarh, India; this is an onsite role.
