Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Accountant to become part of our finance department within a vibrant and rapidly evolving organisation based in Abuja, Nigeria. The successful applicant will possess robust technical accounting expertise, a deep understanding of financial reporting standards, and practical experience utilizing enterprise financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile precise financial statements that align with IFRS guidelines.
• Guarantee adherence to Nigerian tax regulations including VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), Company Income Tax (CIT), and other mandatory requirements.
• Oversee general ledger processes along with month-end and quarter-end closure activities.
• Operate SAP S/4HANA to manage accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and other finance-related tasks.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts.
• Coordinate with both internal and external auditing teams.
• Ensure accurate record keeping and supervise internal accounting controls.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Possession of professional certifications such as ICAN or ACCA is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in a sizeable organisational setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian taxation laws.
• Practical experience working with SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong analytical and financial reporting capabilities.
• Experience within the construction sector is highly desirable.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capacity to perform effectively under pressure.
