Job description

About the Role

Join the Commercial team at Bunnings to manage and grow key business relationships within the Gisborne district. This role manages a portfolio primarily serving Trades, Organisations, and Builders, with a focus on expanding through reactivation of previous clients and sourcing new business opportunities. You will develop strategies and plans that drive growth and foster strong client partnerships. While reading building plans is advantageous but not essential, confident cold calling and client meetings are fundamental to success. The position includes taking over a well-established customer base of around 50 accounts, including some worth up to $2 million annually, and you will work alongside the current Account Manager for a smooth transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to surpass KPIs and budgeted gross profit sales within the channel.
  • Promote products and solutions covering the customer's entire construction project.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to expand market share and identify new business opportunities.
  • Create and implement plans to capitalize on local growth prospects and counter competitor activity.
  • Manage and align budgets in accordance with company expectations.
  • Collaborate with Bunnings teams nationwide to ensure trade customers receive competitive pricing, product range, and service quality.
  • Commit personally to workplace safety standards.

Who We Are Looking For

We seek a knowledgeable, driven sales professional confident in managing and converting business leads, supporting customers with tailored, value-adding solutions. You will report to the Area Sales Manager – Trade and join a motivated, friendly team.

Eligibility and Inclusive Culture

Open to candidates aged 15 or older. We celebrate diversity and inclusion across age, culture, abilities, gender identities, and more, fostering a workplace where everyone belongs. Reasonable accommodations are available during hiring and employment upon request.

Additional Information

  • Team members receive discounts at Bunnings and other Wesfarmers brands including Kmart.
  • Access to over 100 exclusive benefits spanning health, shopping, travel, wealth, and leave options.
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave regardless of gender.
  • Enjoy perks such as festive gifts, discounted food and drinks at the Bunnings Cafe, and opportunities for store travel.
  • Background checks including police, employment, medical, and qualification verifications may be required upon offer of employment.
  • Bunnings reserves the right to close the recruitment process at any time and does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
