About the Role
As an Account Manager at Deswik, a Sandvik company, you will apply your extensive background in mine planning to manage and expand our customer portfolio throughout North America. This position is based in Vancouver and operates on a flexible hybrid model with two days working from home and three days in the office. Travel will approximate 30% of your time.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development and oversee existing accounts, including proposal preparation and contract negotiations.
- Establish and nurture cooperative relationships with customer stakeholders, ranging from site teams to corporate executives.
- Facilitate the planning and delivery of top-notch software implementations and consulting services.
- Innovate by utilizing Deswik technologies to address complex challenges in mining operations.
- Surpass customer expectations by maximizing value from current investments and fostering authentic partnerships.
- Manage client relationships effectively, swiftly resolving any concerns or issues.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses a degree in Mining Engineering or Geology.
- Brings over five years of experience in the mining sector in technical or operational roles.
- Has comprehensive knowledge of site operations and the practical aspects of executing tasks onsite.
- Deep understanding of mining engineering concepts and technical challenges.
- Experience in sales or customer/stakeholder management, including commercial negotiation skills.
- Capable of integrating people, technology, and procedures to develop mine planning solutions.
- Strong influencing and change management abilities within large organizations.
- Driven by continuous improvement and innovation.
- Balances emotional intelligence and analytical skills to reliably achieve commitments.
- Technologically adept with a readiness to learn Deswik tools; proficiency with these tools is a significant advantage.
