Access Control and Dispatch Security Officer

Job Overview

This role involves managing access control at client facilities and dispatch duties to ensure the protection and safety of employees, visitors, vendors, and property. Candidates must have previous experience in dispatch operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Control and monitor access points by managing entry badges and efficiently screening visitors and employees.
• Maintain an environment that demonstrates care and responsiveness to client and visitor needs, ensuring a professional and courteous experience.
• Communicate openly and clearly regarding site information, ensuring a positive representation of the client.
• Oversee entrances, prevent unauthorized access, operate surveillance equipment, and monitor remote access devices.
• Inspect for safety hazards, security breaches, and obstructions to ensure safe ingress and egress.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of security activities and incidents, preparing routine reports.
• Report suspicious or unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel and authorities.
• Ensure removal of property complies with policies and identify client materials during inspections.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients via reports, phone, and radio.
• Perform dispatcher duties including handling emergency calls, resource deployment, multitasking, and prioritization as needed.
• Be physically able to stand and walk for the duration of shifts and perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 and ability to pass a lifetime background check and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license and high school diploma or GED required.
• Prior dispatch experience is mandatory.
• Maintain professional appearance with restrictions on visible tattoos and piercings unless authorized.
• Effective communication skills and professionalism in all interactions.
• Ability to meet state and local security licensing requirements.
• Competence in security procedures, report writing, and use of technology including basic computer programs, telephony, and email.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills capable of working respectfully across diverse groups.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Maintain composure while interacting with clients, authorities, and the public, especially under pressure or urgency.
• Exposure to potentially stressful situations including confronting unauthorized persons.
• Must comply with background checks, drug testing, and licensing requirements.
• Possible requirement for overtime without advance notice.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Engage in frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, and navigating uneven terrain.
• Occasional physical movements like stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to or over 70 pounds related to emergency tasks.
• Good visual and auditory acuity for effective communication and monitoring.
• May require use of a vehicle during duties and exposure to varied weather conditions requiring appropriate safety equipment.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.

• Hourly wage ranging from $19.10 to $19.46.
