Academic Counsellor

About the Role

We are seeking an energetic and result-driven Academic Counsellor to support students and professionals in selecting appropriate career-focused educational programs. The role involves managing inquiries, understanding individual education and career objectives, explaining course details, and converting leads into confirmed admissions while fostering strong relationships with students.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored counselling to students and working professionals on suitable courses and career directions.
• Respond to enquiries received via calls, WhatsApp, social media platforms, in-person visits, and other communication channels.
• Assess candidates' academic backgrounds, ambitions, and needs to recommend appropriate offerings.
• Clarify curriculum specifics, program duration, fee structures, placement assistance, and career prospects.
• Consistently follow up with prospective candidates to convert qualified leads into admissions.
• Meet or exceed monthly goals related to admissions and revenue targets.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of leads, follow-ups, and admissions utilizing CRM software or Excel sheets.
• Collaborate with trainers and placement teams as necessary to ensure smooth processes.
• Build and nurture positive relationships with students and their families.
• Participate actively in seminars, career guidance events, educational fairs, and promotional campaigns.
• Provide detailed regular reports concerning lead status, conversion rates, and pending actions.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• Preferably 2 or more years of experience in academic counselling, educational sales, training institutes, or similar roles.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication capabilities.
• Strong skills in persuasion, negotiation, and consistent follow-through.
• Self-driven and goal-oriented with the ability to meet targets.
• Familiarity with MS Office suite, especially Excel, and CRM tools is necessary.
• Experience in IT or CADD training environments is a plus.

Compensation and Location

Salary offered is competitive and supplemented with performance-based incentives, depending on the candidate’s experience and capabilities.
