Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for an AI Researcher with expertise in computer vision or robotics to further develop Physical Intelligence. This position involves applied research covering the entire AI model lifecycle, including designing multimodal models and optimizing inference to ensure reliable deployment in environments with limited resources. The research will support 5G/6G-enabled immersive communications, teleoperation, and intelligent robotics systems.
Responsibilities
- Carry out applied research in computer vision and multimodal learning, focusing on creating new algorithms, enhancing model precision and robustness, and minimizing computational and inference costs.
- Develop and refine AI-driven solutions that enable low-latency, dependable, and robust performance over telecommunications networks.
- Design, build, and fine-tune AI models tailored for robotic manipulation and control in environments constrained by resources.
- Work closely with other researchers and engineers to establish research priorities, create prototypes, and convert research findings into viable technical and business applications.
- Keep abreast of the latest progress in AI research, especially in telecom-related AI applications, robotics, and Physical AI.
Requirements
- Demonstrable research and development background in computer vision, robotics, or closely related disciplines.
- Practical experience in developing computer vision models, employing multimodal modeling, and fine-tuning large language models.
- Proficiency with major AI frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Solid programming skills in one or more languages like Python or C/C++.
- Familiarity with Vision-Language-Action (VLA) frameworks and Physical AI technologies is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable practical expertise.
- Proven track record of independently managing research and development projects from start to finish.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
- Publications in prestigious peer-reviewed conferences such as AAAI, CVPR, ICML, NeurIPS are considered a plus.
