Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified 3rd Engineer for a Contract position onboard a Multipurpose Support Vessel (MPSV) operating out of Qatar. This is a full-time assignment with an estimated duration of approximately 8 weeks, starting around October 23, 2026.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Must hold valid III/2 Certificate of Competency and Engine Room Management (ERM) certification.
- Possess relevant certificates including BOSIET, CA-EBS, GWO Sea Survival, GWO Manual Handling, H2S, and STCW documents.
- Demonstrate at least 12 months of experience working on Construction Support Vessels (CSV), Diving Support Vessels (DSV), or MPSVs.
- Minimum 2 months effective sailing experience with DP2 Kongsberg Positioning System (KPOS).
- Capable of performing Dynamic Positioning (DP) maintenance tasks.
- Medical fitness certificate must be current.
- Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English is required for effective communication onboard.
Contract Terms and Conditions
- The monthly salary is negotiable depending on the candidate's experience.
- The contract length is approximately 8 weeks, plus or minus 2 weeks.
- Vessel details: Gross Tonnage 4399, Powered by 2 Niigata 8L28 HX engines generating 2206 kW, registered under the Marshall Islands flag.
- Joining date targeted for October 23, 2026, in Qatar.
