Job Description

Peterson Trucks has an immediate need for an experienced Truck Porter at our Eugene, OR location.

Summary

This person serves to assist with lot activity and transport and assists the truck dealership with other duties if needed.

Essential Job Functions

Job functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Transport up to Class 8 tractors, trucks and trailers.
• Setting up the lot, and/or assisting the staff to organize and move trucks around.
• Ensuring that there are adequate fuel levels in trucks for test drives, refueling if necessary.
• Issuing key tags with stock numbers on new truck deliveries.
• Drive trucks around as directed to ensure adequate space and placement of trucks.
• Drive trucks to service shops, if necessary.
• Pick up and/or deliver trucks if directed.
• Secure vehicles at the end of the business day.
• Wash vehicle and trailer washing, detailing and cleaning.
• Perform miscellaneous clean-up of shop and yard.
• Perform various assigned shop and parts duties.
• Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of two years of related experience, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Candidate must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s license and current Medical Certificate.
