Harvey Roofing is looking for a qualified candidate to ensure in-process quality control tests / inspections on products and materials are conducted as per the requirements of the quality system thereby contributing to customer satisfaction.

- NQF Level 4-5 / Higher Certificate/ Grade 12
- 3 years’ experience essential
- 3 years steel industry experience advantageous
- Technical experience essential
- Understanding of roof installation process
- Basic knowledge of woodwork and sheet metal work
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be a team player.

, Duties and Responsibilities,
Technical
- Organise / coordinate people and prioritises / allocates / communicates tasks to achieve required output targets.
- Ensure subordinates understand the performance standards or outcomes required.
- Train / ensure that subordinates are trained to perform their tasks to the required standard.
- Monitor progress on allocated work and takes timeous corrective action.
- Identify and reports performance problems and misconduct to the department manager.
- Ensure subordinates have access to the required tools, equipment, material etc to perform their tasks to the required standard.
- Report employee grievances / problems immediately to the dept manager
- Ensure metal pre-treatment baths are checked 4 x per day.
- Ensure the conducting of total alkalinity test, PH test and acid tests as per work instructions.
- Ensure the recording of results on the appropriate test sheets.
- Ensure results are analysed and appropriate actions are undertaken. Ensure temperature(s) are checked with results recorded and actions taken as required by work.
- Ensure Zinc and phosphate conversion tests are conducted once per shift using the appropriate equipment. Ensures results are recorded.
- Ensure coating weight tests are conducted on tiles 4x per shift.
- Ensure phosphate and curing oven temperatures are taken and recorded every hour.
- Ensure results are analysed and corrective action taken as per work instructions.
- Ensure impact wet & dry adhesion, nail gun and flexibility tests are conducted on finished products as per the relevant work instructions.
- Ensure results are recorded and corrective action undertaken as per the relevant work instructions.
- Ensure that hold, rework, and scrap labels are attached to non-conforming products and actions are taken.
- Ensure that non-conforming material is identified and isolated as per the relevant work instructions.
- Monitor housekeeping and ensures standards are maintained.
- Monitor work practices and ensures work is performed in accordance with relevant SHEQ working procedures / work instructions.
- Monitor SHEQ conditions and work practices that are dangerous or could lead to pollution and reports immediately as per the SHE system.
- Report any SHEQ incident / accidents immediately as per the SHE system.
- Use / ensure the PPE required for the specific tasks or working conditions are used by subordinates.
- Perform tasks assigned in the SHEQ system
Operational
- Comply with work rules, standards, and methods. Take care to minimise waste. Identify and provide feedback on cost saving initiatives within area of control.
Stakeholder Relations
- Provide specialised technical / professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.
- Build, support and maintain interpersonal and team relationships to ensure stable working environment and achievement of team objectives.
Governance, Compliance And Risk Management
- Adhere to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies, and procedures. Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.

Reporting
- Obtain, check, and refine information. Collate and submit reports.
