Mission of the Role

To develop leakproof & non-soggy delivery containers, development of molded fiber products for food service applications. and explore alternate substrates for molded products, leading innovation in sustainable packaging solutions while ensuring optimal performance and market viability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Development and Innovation:
  • Lead the development of leakproof and non-soggy delivery containers with 2-hour shelf life
  • Explore and implement alternative materials including agri-residues, bioplastics, and paper
  • Spearhead long-term projects focused on alternate substrate development
  • Establish benchmark mechanisms for material properties and processing parameters
  • Research and Technical Leadership:
  • Drive the exploration of different agri-residues, bioplastics, and paper-based materials
  • Develop and validate substrate properties from various sources
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and testing protocols
  • Lead technical feasibility studies for new materials and processes
  • Quality and Performance Management:
  • Establish and monitor quality benchmarks for all developed products
  • Ensure consistent product performance across different materials and conditions
  • Implement testing methodologies for product validation
  • Maintain quality standards throughout the development process
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure manufacturability
  • Coordinate with R&D teams on material research and development
  • Collaborate with quality control for testing and validation
  • Engage with sustainability teams to ensure alignment with eco-friendly goals

Key Outcomes (Year 1)

  • Validation and scale-up of leakproof and non-soggy delivery container with 2-hour shelf life
  • Successfully utilize alternate agri-residues/bioplastic/paper for delivery containers
  • Align and execute one long-term project with alternate substrate

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Pulp and Paper Technology
    • Polymer Engineering/Technology
    • Biotechnology
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Materials Science
    • Related engineering disciplines with focus on materials/polymers
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in product development or R&D roles
    • Demonstrated experience in molded product development
    • Strong background in material science and processing
    • Experience with sustainable materials and manufacturing processes
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in material testing and characterization
    • Strong understanding of polymer processing and molding technologies
    • Proficiency in quality control systems and benchmarking
    • Excellent project management and team collaboration abilities
