Coordinates and implements the library services that are provided online, including electronic collections, event
calendars, website content, and other virtual/ digital services. Assists customers and staff with accessing and
using virtual digital services, either through training or direct assistance. Researches best practices and solutions
to maintain and improve functionality, accessibility, and user experience. Assists in communicating new
services or programs to customers via the library’s WordPress website at memphislibrary.org, digital signage in
the building, street signs, and via email communications. Works with City Communications and Library Adult,
Teen, and Children’s Services coordinators to ensure programs and other new services are effectively promoted,
aligned with community needs, and delivered seamlessly to the public. Develops web pages and other digital
content to ensure customers can easily access and utilize our electronic resources. Coordinates training for staff
and customers on electronic resources, and assist with troubleshooting issues related to research databases,
online learning platforms, and e-book/e-audio collections. Manages and recruits local musicians for the online
local music streaming service. Collaborates with Information Technology (IT) to address issues or manage
special projects that impact the library’s website. Researches and implements WordPress website plugins and
other add-ons to enhance services. Works with staff system-wide to ensure that programs are entered into the
events calendar. Collaborates with the vendor to resolve issues and integrates the calendar into various web
pages and email communications.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
with staff and the public. Primarily desk work requiring the ability to operate general office equipment such as a
computer and telephone. Requires stooping, bending, stretching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office environment. Must be able to work a
flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. May be on call for technology-related issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, or a
related field and five (5) years’ experience with three (3) years in a supervisor capacity; or any combination of
experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Experience or knowledge of
web design and development preferred. Knowledge of Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading
Style Sheets (CSS) preferred.
