Job Summary
Baptist Health is hiring a Contract Negotiator to join the Managed Care Team. This is a full-time, remote position located in downtown Jacksonville. You will be required to come Jacksonville, Florida 3 or 4 times a year plus annually attend a conference in central Florida.
Responsibilities
- Negotiates contracts with managed care plans and be the liaison between the health system and the managed care plans.
- Negotiates agreements and amendments between Baptist Health and managed care plans to include redlining in accordance with Baptist Health managed care language standards and negotiation of rates as approved by Managed Care leadership.
- Works independently to negotiate single case agreements in accordance with establish rate and language provisions.
- Leads joint operation committee meetings with managed care plans, including preparation of agendas, recording minutes, and conducting follow up to ensure operational issues are resolved.
- Works independently to complete credentialing of Baptist Health hospitals, facilities and ancillary organizations with the managed care plans.
- Validates the integrity of final agreements and amendments to ensure that the agreements and amendments are correct and include all negotiated changes and all appropriate Baptist Health entities.
- Understands health care reimbursement methodologies and analyzes contract performance., as well as contract rate proposals.
- Obtains and maintains knowledge of applicable Baptist Health systems and applications to research claims variances.
Approved work states: AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MI, MS, NC, NE, ND, NV, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WI and WY
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Managed Care experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required; law degree preferred
